This course is a development of skills and knowledge in dog grooming and aimed towards people who would like to take up dog grooming as a profession. In this course you will learn all of the basics of dog grooming, you will cover topics such as:
Animal handling
The right tools and equipment you need
Animal preparation
Bathing and drying
De matting dogs
Health checks
Teeth cleaning
Dog behaviours and
How to handle the dog safely
You will be taught by our experienced professional dog groomers, they will be there to guide you and give you pointers when needed. They will also be able to help you develop knowledge of different breeds of dogs and the different techniques that are needed to become a dog groomer.
Our groomers are also there to answer any questions that you have so don’t be afraid to ask!
This course would be a 1 day a week for 10 weeks from 9am-5pm. After completing this course you will be able to start and finish a full groom to a good standard, multiple dogs will be provided for you during this course or if it makes you more comfortable then you are able to bring your own dog.
We also provide you with a theory booklet with everything that we think is important for you to know while completing our dog grooming course. These courses take place in small groups of 2-3 students we do this to maximise 1 to 1 learning so that you get the best out of our tutors.
